Lily is 26 months old Today

Since Emma's arrival I completely missed Lily turning 25 months. Guess that's what happens. You begin to only celebrate milestones and notice them getting older at the half-year and year marks. But this month Lily has progressed into such a little girl it definitely deserves a post in itself.

*Not only has Lily expanded her vocabulary but she is talking in 2-3 word sentence fragments
*She is beginning to use the words please and thank you without prompting
*Uses pronouns you and me (gets them confused sometimes but uses them correctly most of the time)
*REALLY likes the word NO :)
*Her listening skills have improved dramatically
*Lily still has meltdowns and tantrums but have decreased slightly
*She has learned her ABCs, can sing them but sometimes skips over letters if she doesn't have them in front of her
*Loves songs and singing, she knows words in several songs but can not yet sing an entire song
*Songs include Wheels on the Bus, John Jacob...Schmidt, Tea Pot, Super Why song, Elmo's World song
*She can brush her teeth pretty well independently but we go back to finish the job
*Lily has become not a picky eater but an eater that knows what she likes and in the mood for
*She eats three meals with one snack a day
*Can draw vertical lines, a tree (2 lines and a circle that represent a tree), circles and pretends to write her name
*Loves stickers and her sticker book
*Likes to say Grace at dinner, so she can say Amen
*Goes down for a nap and bedtime extremely easy now, all we have to do is cover her with blankets turn on her music and say night-night. Nap usually 2-3 hours and sleeps from 9pm-8am.
*Can hop, with both feet coming off of the ground
*Kick a soccer ball like a champ (we can't wait to get her onto a toddler team)
*Puts her shoes on but needs help fastening them, and can take them off most of the time
*Has developed sense of compassion for others
*Helps set the table for dinner each night including silverware, drinks, napkins and extras
*Loves to help with anything
*And, has started to talk about school...excitingly so far
*Has developed quite a memory for places, people and events (She has Mike's photographic memory)
