This past week there were two outings with Miss Lily that simply knocked me off of my feet. Not because I'm tired but because she's simply growing up!
Example 1: Sometimes when Lily and I get ready to head out in the morning we disagree on some things. Some of these things include, who will pick out her clothes? who will put her clothes on? I guess I tend to rush her since I know time wise we don't have all day to stay in the house practicing to put on a shoe and velcro it shut so, I resort to bribery. I know. I know. But she's two. She won't remember right? Oh, no she does! In this example Lily remembered Bubbles!!
On our way home from stopping at two stores in which Lily was an absolute angel she reminded me, "Mama, bubbles". So we stopped at Toys R Us. Now let me preface this with...I bent down to talk to her at the car and explained that if she didn't listen to mommy or hold mommy's hand she would be put in a shopping cart. So, in we went hand in hand the entire way through Toys R Us to find bubbles. She did not leave the aisle, she listened the entire time, and I was thrilled when she picked out the most inexpensive bubbles in the store. Woo Hoo, win win.
So, we got home and did bubbles in the house. We have done bubbles in the house ever since. And that's ok, she definitely deserves it.
Example 2: Trip to the mall. Usually a disaster when let out of the stroller because Lily is just a natural explorer but also thinks it's a game to run away from me. So much fun. But this trip, she listened, she held on to the stroller like I asked while we walked the entire length of the mall. We even survived the Disney store!
The treat: A ride on the merry-go-round and now that she's not to fond of the horses we rode in a Princess car! Thank goodness that was a hit! And of course more bubbles when we got home!
