Strawberry Picking

Today the four of us ventured to Pungo for our 2nd Annual Strawberry Picking Day. This was also an event planned by the mom's club.

The weather was beautiful, not a cloud in the sky. The plants were loaded with strawberries and we found an aisle that was empty so we could have our pick of the best berries there.

Lily and Daddy got busy picking strawberries after a quick lesson on how and which ones were "good". Emma and I even got in the action by helping Lily fill her basket.

Lily was very busy running around and had to take several breaks. Too bad her breaks were sitting on the plants so that she squished berries that left huge spots on her shorts! Thank goodness for spray n' wash!
Daddy and his Princess

Emma and I stayed for about half an hour to help out and then to the car we went. It was hot, it was too sunny for her bare little legs and she was hungry. Plus, Lily was able to sit and cool off until we were finished.

While we picked out some other produce Lily made a friend in their sand pit and then cooled off by hanging out in the front seat with Daddy.
We had a terrific morning not to mention this was our First Family Outing. We decided the Target trip classified as first family errand..much different.

Such a fun family tradition! :) Looks like you had a great time. I think Mike needs to make that his official strawberry picking polo every year now. :) Never would have noticed except for the pic from last year of course! It coordinates well with the strawberries. I hope the fields are that full next week! Woo hoo!
