Today, Miss Emma turned 2 weeks old and had her second visit to our pediatrician, Dr. Wick! Although she told us again that E is perfect, she is now on Zantac for reflux. How did we figure this out? She became as hoarse as anything! Her cry in the hospital could have challenged the finest fire engine and it soon turned into a normal newborn cry by the time we got home. Then, suddenly it became hoarse like she had been up all night crying, which she hadn't. So the hoarseness and many, many cases of the hiccups later...the diagnosis is reflux!
Other than this, she is perfect.
Two week stats:
8 lbs 10.5 ounces, 21 1/4 inches and 14 1/2 in head circumference
Forgot to ask %, but I'm sure they're higher than average and we are happy she is back up to birth weight!
