Sesame Street Live

On Thursday we began telling Lily that we were going to go see her Sesame friends on Saturday morning. That they would drive down from Sesame Place to see her. She would nod her head yes every time we would ask her if that was ok and if she wanted to go see them. We even practiced saying Hi and waving to them all day Friday. Saturday morning came and since the show started at 1030 we had to wake her up in order to leave early enough to get the Ted. As soon as we opened her bedroom door and told her she had to get up to go see her friends, she popped up and wanted out of the crib...it was the easiest wake-up the girl has ever had!
We went in and found lots of vendors, of course, with completely overpriced Sesame Street stuff that Mike and I would never buy her. But we did see a pennant that we could hang in her playroom and a program that she has been glued to ever since we bought it for her. These people were smart they even had vendors walking around the seats with huge bags of cotton candy, boxes of popcorn, snow cones, HUGE Elmo balloons (for $10 a piece and we cringed every time we saw one float to the arena's ceiling) and Lily wanted every single thing. My bag was packed with tons of snacks but we ended up breaking down and buying popcorn at the intermission, guess that's what parents do right?
We had wonderful seats that seemed like they were front row for Miss Lily. She had a terrific time and like everything else Mike and I enjoyed watching her more than anything. It's definitely worth going every year just for the experience of going to a live show that she enjoys, a special treat for our darling little girl.
