Lately, and I mean in the last week, I have changed the way I do a few things. Parenting, like teaching, requires you to be two steps ahead of your kids. Well, I let go and it worked out fine.
As we all know, during the day at home the bathroom door always stays open and you usually have company on your trips. And, I'm no different. So, every time I go to the bathroom I have been scooping up Emma to take her with me. She usually just sits and plays with the toys that are near by and then we're off to do something else. Well, then she started to crawl all over and go to places that I couldn't reach her and now she's beginning to stand, hold on to the cabinet doors and OPEN them to get into the trash can.
Not so good.
So I changed the way I did things.
I wait until the girls are happy and content and I sneak away to have a quick bathroom break. I have to say in the past few days that I have gone to the bathroom solo more than I have in the past two and a half years! And, the girls have been fine. Granted they are pretty quick trips and I rush back out to the playroom to check on them, but so far so good.
Here's to being happy, content and solo bathroom trips :)
