What a long, fun-filled Fourth of July!
It began by going to church and having both girls with us this morning for the entire service. Needless to say, Mike and I both worked up a sweat to keep them both happy and quietly entertained.
We then enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home before we headed to the Stahls for an evening bbq and get together with good friends. We had a lot of fun hanging out again this evening but I have to say that the biggest event of the day/night was that....
EMMA ROLLED OVER and OVER and OVER...
We ended up skipping the fireworks at Mt. Trashmore since we were worried how loud they would be for Miss Emma. We thought that maybe watching them from a distance would be better, but no. We tried in fact to stop in a parking lot that was filled with people to watch from about a mile away. Lily, was scared to death of the little fireworks that people were setting off in their backyards. She curled up in the trunk and cried and said, Go Home. Go Home.
Even when we got home people on our street were setting them off in their driveways. I had to run her inside while she hid her face in her hands saying no, no, no. She didn't even like the fireworks on tv! Guess we'll have to wait a few years before we try that again.
But even without fireworks, we had a wonderful holiday weekend!
